Perry Mason rules
If you are a fan of mysteries and old Noir films plus you like gumshoe stories than you will love this old series which set the standard for the genre. This dvd collection contains some of the best shows the series had to offer plus lots of interesting tidbits for fans. An excellent cross section of one of the best TV series ever made

As expected, these are some of the best showa in a series that remains excellent even today. Episodes include one of the 4 guest star stand in shows that were done while Raymond Burr was hospitalized, this one starring Bette Davis "The Case of Constance Doyle"; Others include the only color episode ever done, the only trial Mason ever lost, "The Case of the DeaD Ringer" where Raymond Burr plays dual roles as Mason and a suspect (which was done extremely well for the time); and the last show, starring the great Estelle Winwood as a Sunset Blvd type character and showed many of the show's crew from over its nine year run. Bonus Material shows William Hopper trying out for the role of Mason, and Burr as Burger among others; William Talmage's very moving anti ... As expected, these are some of the best showa in a series that remains excellent even today. In this collection, you will see Robert Redford, Ryan ONeal, Bette Davis, Barbara Bain, James Coburn, Adam West, Burt Reynolds, Leonard Nimoy, Margaret O'Brien, Julie Admas, and Dick Clark. Perry Mason at his Best!
Simply Old School drama that laid the ground work for current law and police procedural television shows. Very satisfying, since I grew up on this fare with my grand parents and parents. However, the pace of the show can put one to sleep. Creative plots are guaranteed — most of the time!

This compilation is really great as it showcases some of hollywoods popular actors before they became famous. The set contains 4 discs with 3-4 episodes on each from different years. The set has an introduction by Barara Hale Perry's long time friend and actor on the series. This is a DVD worth having in a collection.
I haven’t viewed the DVD yet. Just waiting for the right mood. One of the best tv shows of all time. Even today it surpasses the junk that’s offered on cable tv and all their special effects. I love my own collection of movies and tv shows from the past. My cable is needed to keep up with the news of today.
