  • This Title has an Identity Crisis

Godzilla and other Movie Monsters delivers what it claims and much, much more. In fact, that's the problem with the feature, there is far too much unnecessary information included. The feature starts off well enough with a short review of Godzilla's fifty-year reign of terror. At that point, however, it suddenly decides it wants to become a documentary, presenting an overly long and frankly boring lesson on the roots of herpetology, dinosaurs in general and mythological dragons in particular. Upon escaping from the classroom, the feature again becomes both entertaining and informative as it reviews classic monster movies from Japan, England and the United States. Fortunately, this is a DVD and you can skip past most of the 'educational' footage. Even then, it's not a particularly ...

  • What a wildly fun & interesting look @ movie monsters!!

My son really really loves Godzilla so watching the lizard king doing his thing is great fun but it was also a very educational inside look at the early movie industry & how special effects grew. I thought it was wonderfully put together & My son watched it three times one right after the other! We would buy more like this! The only thing my son did not like was Bambi getting killed! Synopsis: How dragons & dinosaurs grew in legends & the impact they made on the entertainment industry from early literature & folklore to modern computerization. (And yes it has Godzilla step on Bambi!)

  • This DVD rules!

It was new and sealed as claimed and it even came earlier than expected!

  • A blast from my childhood!

I remember watching this as a kid, so watching it once more as an adult was great! Perfect fun for monster lovers of all ages!

  • A great monster movie doc!

A great feature length documentary that explores the history of monsters in storytelling from the earliest dragon legends to the latest monster movies, combining clips and behind the scenes footage from the Godzilla movies and other films of the genre. Including the classic animated short "Bambi Vs Godzilla", a must-have for any G fan!
