Multiplication Rock CD 1967
It's difficult to find mint copies of this CD. And believe me, I have looked. I thought it would be great to gather up some copies to give as gifts to friends. You can find the VHS version all over the place, but the CD is somehow out-of-print and rare... and usually expensive. Multiplication Rock not only brings back vivid memories of singing these songs (as LP versions) with my brother in the 70s of our childhood, but introduces & reinforces multiplication concepts to my six-year-old... who asks to hear this CD in the car every morning on the way to school! It's FUN and kids LOVE it! Someone should do a re-issue of this CD and make it readily available to all the parents in my (mid30s to mid40s) demographic who would jump at the chance to share these familiar songs with their own ... The Best Way to Learn the Times Tables!
I teach a special education class of 12 3rd-4th graders. We started watching the Multiplication Rock video about twice a week, and after a month almost all the kids had most of their times tables down. I bought the Multiplication Rock CD to support the kids' math skills, and because I was getting tired of having the kids beg me to let them watch the movie! I put the CD on my classroom ipod and play it during art or when the kids washing up for lunch. I've had teachers and parents all over the school ask me where I got the Multiplication Rock materials, since my kids are now better at multiplication than many of their peers in general education. The quality of the CD is great, although I'd really only recommend the CD for those who already have the movie, since some parts go very fast ... To this day, I sing "Three Is A Magic Number". What a GREAT tool to teach our children the Multiplication tables, and for them to "stick" with them for the rest of their lives. And if this product is not enough for you, may I recommend the DVD or VHS that goes along with this, or ANY of the Schoolhouse Rock Series Audio or Video. My children have enjoyed and learned from this series, why not start a family tradition that I'm sure be enjoyed for many generations to come ? ...
