My initial purchase arrived broken in 100 pieces due to there not being enough packaging material in the box with the fully wrapped dish. I contacted the seller & I was issued an immediate refund. I then saw that she had another of the same dish & inquired about it. She still had it, so I purchased the new one & it was sent wrapped exceptionally well & I’m happy to report this one was in perfect shape! I would purchase from this seller again.

Item was well packaged and arrived as described. Thank you for helping me find something, this was a very sentimental purchase, and very reasonably priced!

This Radio Shack Science Fair lab was first offered in the 1994 catalog and withdrawn by1998 making this particular kit at least 27 years old. The box is a bit rough as shown in the listing but after nearly 30 years it's still holding together. Each of the four mini projects were in their original wrapping and in pristine condition. I'm not a collector. I bought this for when the kids visit and want to build something with me. Makes for priceless memories. It's sad nobody makes these anymore.

Is It Worth It? Well, Yes For Convienence Sake

The good: very simple, fast and effective. The bad: these don't last indefinitely. So my suggestion is to use on the rare or hard to find discs you are interested in collecting or preserving. A data disc would be worthy if it contained one of a kind info. The abrasive material on the verticle rubber wheel is what will wear out and there are no cheap replacements to be found anymore. If your a do it your selfer you might be able to replace it with some quality sand paper but that would not be easy. I'd use some auto plastic polish for the final touch. Like the kind you polish the headlight covers with.

    does fairly well

Item Does what is described Will help fix dvds but wiill not fix all dvds but it has fixed a couple so far however it eats the batteries up very quickly but does have a power adapter plug in but im only giving three stars becasue i believe the itme should have came standart with a power adapter which it did not overall the item does whats describe for minor issues but i've not been able to get it to work with all bad dvds but it is still being used to fix things overall for the price its worth it for the price thanks

  • Works well and is much better than a manual crank version of this item

The motorized version does a much better job than the manual crank SkipDr. It rotates the disc at a much higher speed and your arm doesn't get tired... :) The machine does well on light to medium scratches. I've been checking out discs from the library and they often have scratches that cause skipping. I've fixed each of them with this machine and returned the discs in better shape than I got them in.

  • Ultimate game changer for music cds. Long as you have one of these & dont scratch foil\top side or crack the cd, or it gets stolen, no more replacing!

I used to have one of these, and its so effective itll feel like it uses magic. If you use one of these, and do in conjunction with having the repair kit, use some clear sealant like an hard enamel, varnish, fingernail polish, etc, and carefully(as to not get any on the downside of the cd) put a layer or two on coving completely over the foil/topside of your cd(s) to prevent nearly any damages from ever happening to the data, AND take good care (even pretty sloppy care, like i do) care of your cds, then chances are excellent that youll bever have to rebuy an album again, barring that

This unit is really nice, works well! Purchase a 12v external power supply, it’s worth it! Batteries get eaten up fast, so everything works better and longer this way!
