About this product

Product Information

Linear algebra is relatively easy for students during the early stages of the course, when the material is presented in a familiar, concrete setting. But when abstract concepts are introduced, students often hit a brick wall. Instructors seem to agree that certain concepts (such as linear independence, spanning, subspace, vector space, and linear transformations), are not easily understood, and require time to assimilate. Since they are fundamental to the study of linear algebra, students' understanding of these concepts is vital to their mastery of the subject. David Lay introduces these concepts early in a familiar, concrete "Rn " setting, develops them gradually, and returns to them again and again throughout the text so that when discussed in the abstract, these concepts are more accessible. • Review of Linear Algebra and Its Applications (4th Edition)

I am an independent math tutor and have one student I work with who is currently taking Linear Algebra and is using this text. Becasue I work with students in this course less frequently than others, I wanted a my own copy of the text to refer to. I found the purchase cost of this text very reasonable, the book arrived in virtually like-new condition, and shipping was quick. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

  • Saved money...and both content and problem pages are identical to us versio

I had already compared three other math texts before i got to this one so i admit my comparison was brief...i was burnt out on math symbols i'm not supposed to learn about till the end of the semester...but it appeared as if even the problem pages in this text are identical to the usa version...i compared the first few sections and section 6:4 [the last one my professor will cover this semester] and found no discrepancies at all...so i decided to take a chance and not check every section...but text is brand new, in english and the content seems 100% the same as the usa version...and it's tons cheaper...cover picture is different but that is not a big deal...
