The image picket came in destroyed condition. Shipping was fine because there was no damage in transit. The picket itself was torn and full of marks and creases. Not worth the money spent. I also found the seller a bit rude because they threatened me with a bad review if I didn’t purchase the product after making an offer. They also took a long time to ship the product. If I’m paying more than 37USD on an image picket, I expect to be given a good quality service and product.

Individual power supply segments are located on the same heat sinks as the output transistors. Short Signal Paths for Clearer Sound For critical listening, the PM8004 includes a “Source Direct” switch that bypasses balance and tone control circuits for pristine reproduction. Easily Integrates into Your Home Theater System Power Amp Direct allows you integrate a dedicated 2 channel Hi-fi system with your home theater receiver and easily switch between modes. A convenient front panel switch optimizes the main-in terminals for use with a separate surround processor so you can enjoy the same Left and Right speakers you use for stereo. This switch also disables the PM8004’s front panel controls (input selection, volume, balance, etc.) so that the surround processor acts as the control center when you’re enjoying surround sound. Another three-second push on the Power Amp Direct button restores the PM8004 to normal stereo operation. Audio Circuitry Designed for Superb Listening Both preamp and power amp sections use fully-discrete, high speed current feedback circuits for minimal phase shift and better detail resolution. The phono input is a fully discrete, constant-current design optimized for moving magnet phono cartridges. Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module Marantz’s notable HDAM® SA3, the most recent addition to the Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module series, performs critical stage-to-stage signal transfers that leave the music unaffected. Most inputs benefit from a common buffer circuit that minimizes unwanted interactions between source and amp. The CD input enjoys a separate buffer for even better isolation. Even the Record Out terminals are buffered for enhanced recording clarity. Beautiful Appearance, Functional Design The PM8004’s front panel uses a carefully chosen combination of aluminum and glass-reinforced resin to create a distinctive three dimensional appearance. Indirect reflecting blue LEDs indicating input selection, etc., heighten that elegant appearance. Aluminum front panel knobs add solidity while the high precision motorized volume control responds instantly to both touch and the PM8004’s included remote control. As a proper foundation for the PM8004’s feature-rich performance, the chassis itself includes a triple-layer bottom plate to insure long-term alignment and vibration control. Attention to Detail Other details, those affecting both connectivity and convenience, add to the PM8004’s appeal. Rear panel speaker connectors, for example, are Marantz-original heavy duty designs ideally suited for use with audiophile speaker cable. With A/B speaker connectors and a front panel switch, you can select speakers in two different locations. Marantz PM 8004 Vs. Marantz PM 7000
I upgraded my office system integrated amp from the very well rated Marantz PM 7000 to the Marantz PM 8004. This unit is driving 6 Ohm Wharfdale Jade speakers, which are know to be somewhat difficult to drive. The PM 7000 sounded very good, but ran quite hot at "normal" background music listening levels, and very hot at "loud" but still comfortable listeneing levels (130 Degree F). The phono stage sounded fair to good thru a ~$300 cartridge. The PM 8004 sounds better than the PM 7000, with a more "relaxed", open and detailed sound. It is very neutral to my ears (as opposed to other reviewers describing the Marantz signature sound as "warm"). The PM 8004's phono stage is excellent and has been a joy to use; the headphone stage is phenomenal when used with my Grado RS2's. The unit is ... Well worth the money
Amazing sound with amazing presence. You can see, feel and hear the engineering that went into the PM8004. The triple tone controls were the added bonus I was looking. A beefy power supply combined with behemouth speaker binding post all tucked in a sleek cool package.

Great product, Best in Class
I am soooo happy with this Integrated Amplifier. I was switching from 7.1 channel surround, more moded to tv/movie watching, back to a 2.0 system, more moded to music. I have never regretted the change. My TV and movies still sound great and music, well it is like a live concert in my living room when I start this up. I use the speaker switcher to be sure I still have surround sound. Yea I lost the whoooosh of a car racing across the screen but plenty of sound still exists for my taste and the music is well, marvelous.I am soooo happy with this Integrated Amplifier.
