Early comedy from 1950s from icon Andy Griffith
If you like the characters Will Stockdale and Sheriff Andy Taylor played by Andy Griffith, you will probably like this album.In the early days, his routines were sort of classic country humor in the vein of Jerry Clower,etc. His most famous routine--It was football is what it was--got lots of air play on the radio in the 1950s and is pretty funny family humor from that time period. His take on "Andy and Cleopatra" and "Romeo and Juliet" were pretty funny as well, but may play a little as corny for the sophisticated listenter. "Wit and Wisdom of Andy Griffith"
For years we have kept a tape in our old Ford Taurus, but when we bought a new Dodge Magnum, the tape was no longer used. I was thrilled to find this CD on EBAY, of course I bought it. This tape is really special. When I was a child Andy Griffith was heard on the radio with some of the same little stories that are on this CD. "What It Was was Football" is so funny.
