    Does what Martin claims

    Longer lasting than standard strings. Resist corrosion. Softer play-ability. Less noise when sliding notes. Brings out the wood/natural sound of the acoustic guitar. I was a firm supporter of the Martin MSP7100 Lifespan strings and still love them but the Retro (Monel) strings offer a little better low end from my HD-28 which I desire due to the bluegrass music I play.

    Long lasting with little overtones. Plain sound.

    Martin Monel strings last a long time and have great durability. They didnt sound very good to me on my rosewood guitar. They have a simi quit and very plain sound. I her they compliment mahogany guitars better. I believe i prefer the overtones of phospher bronze to much to consider using monels again. Try them though there a quality string just not for me.
