    About this product

    Product Information

As a mighty Spartan warrior, players wade into chaotic, large-scale battles, to single-handedly turn the tides of war to their favor through smart tactics and fighting prowess. The first game published by Sega since acquiring The Creative Assembly, and the first console game ever by the developer, Spartan: Total Warrior applies the massive battles and tactical demands of the flagship Total War series with the fast-paced, immediate action of a third-person console game. The player's character can use a selection of melee and ranged weapons, each with multiple moves that allow the hero to attack a single opponent or to damage all nearby enemies. The hero becomes more deadly as he gains experience. Single-player scenarios sometimes pose multiple, simultaneous threats, and battles may feature over 100 (onscreen) warriors, each fighting for his virtual life. By wisely deciding which enemies to attack, and how to attack them, player's can lead their side to victory even against overwhelming odds.

    • Great, entertaining, mythology game....

I am a huge mythology buff, so when I heard about this game, I went out immediately and bought it. If you're looking for a game that takes overall skill, this isn't it. You can describe this game as a button masher. There is some level of skill when it comes to the bosses, but overall if you can push x and square over and over again, you'll have no problem playing this game. The story is interesting, the upgrades to hero and legend make the game more intense, and I personally felt the graphics were pretty good given the amount of enemies that can be on the screen at one time. There are certain points in the game in which I found a drag in which the ps2 cannot keep up with the action, but it only happend twice. Pros: Overall fun to play, the story is entertaining, the graphics are ...

    • Hell of a fun game with great graphics, and loads of action !

First, let me say that this is one of my favorite games EVER. I liked the main character a lot, and enjoyed the limited time I had fighting alongside my buddies, Castor and Pollux. There are other cool allies to fight with also, and I wish I could have seen more of them. I haven't finished the game yet, but wanted to say that it is already more than worth what I spent on it. The monsters and enemies you get to fight are interesting and often presented in unusual ways. I liked the weapons a lot, but would have liked to also be able to choose my armor or other gear. Sometimes the hordes of enemies onscreen at once get a little ridiculous, and make it really hard to focus or see anything; especially your poor beleaguered allies. I would have liked to be able to explore the environments a ...

    • Spartan Total Warrior PS2

For a Playstation 2 game, this one is amazing. The graphics are stellar, the storyline is flawless and the gameplay leaves little to be desired. If this were translated to the PS3 generation it would undoubtedly be one of the mega-hits, to rival God of War and Inferno. The only downside is that when viewed next to games such as those previously mentioned, one definitely notices the differences between the genres (the fault there is simply that it is on a dated system, however, and not one inherent to the game, itself). Downside - the creators didn't see fit to modernize it and continue it into one of the newer generation systems. Other than that it's a great game in its entirety.

    • Spartan Total Warrior is good

Spartan Total Warrior is a good game. Vast levels and hordes of enemies, with several different type of enemies, and pretty good boss fights. Although Spartan isn't my most favorite game, it sertainly deserves a chance to at least be played once, or if you're like me a week straight. Also this game isn't for everyone, keep in mind the rating of the game, which is put there so responsible parents will protect their child(ren) from what they shouldn't be introduced to yet. I decided to buy this game because I thought it looked interesting and fun, and that is exactly what it was.
