About this product

Product Information

Kim Mulkey has been a gutsy trailblazer her entire life. Growing up in Hammond, Louisiana, she was the first girl in her hometown to play on an all-boys baseball team. And she is the only woman or man to win an NCAA championship as a player (twice at Louisiana Tech), as an assistant coach, and as coach (at Baylor). In Won't Back Down , Mulkey describes her upbringing, including her first encounter with racism; her departure from Louisiana Tech after a nasty squabble with the administration over the head coaching job; and how she rejuvenated a struggling Baylor program and turned it into a national champion. Laying out her coaching philosophy and the challenges of recruiting and coaching players today, Mulkey also discusses the many obstacles she has overcome in her personal and professional life.

  • Won't Back Down by Kim Mulkey, Peter May

I live in Waco Tx and was very interesting in reading about the head coach of the Baylor Girls Basketball Team. It was very interesting to read about Kim's childhood and how much she loved basketball. What impressed me the most was that she always put family first before her job. Also that she put academic for the girls before their basketball. She wanted them to graduate and get their degree.

  • Good read

I enjoyed the personal insight into Mulkey's life. It was easy for me to see her humor and sincerity not often found when one is hearing her or watching her on the sidelines. I recommend it for those fans of women's basketball.

  • Great

Book was in great shape!!! My husband will love it - a Christmas gift. We live in Waco and will have Coach Mulkey autograph book.
