THE HAYNES BOOKS ARE KNOWN FOR DETAILS BUT UNFORTUNATELY, IF YOU DONT HAVE A LOT OF DETAIL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE WORKINGS OF AN ENGINE OR ANY OTHER PART OF A CAR THEN THIS BOOK WILL PROBABLY NOT BE VERY HELPFUL TO YOU. WHAT IT CAN DO HOWEVER, IS GIVE YOU A BASIC GUIDE TO TAKE TO YOUR MECHANIC AS TO WHAT CAN POSSIBLY BE WRONG. PICTURES ARE GOOD BUT DOESNT GIVEN AMATEUR ENOUGH GUIDANCE TO ACTUALLY DO THE REPAIR. EXAMPLE. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT TOO THE MECHANIC, SAID IT WAS AN EGR ISSUE. HE HAD CHECKED THE VALVE AND SAID IT WAS OK, SO NEXT ISSUE WAS TO CHECK AND CLEAN THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WHICH WOULD BE EXPENSIVE.
