    Great Book!!! John W. Poe, my Great Uncle!

    Hi Everyone: John William Poe, my great uncle was the deputy sheriff under Pat Garrett, and there is a chapter in here devoted to explaining his part if helping with the capture and, finally the killing of Billy the Kid by Pat Garrett. But there is much more to this book that that. John W. Poe and his wife Sophie were pioneers in the wild and untamed area of Mexico. John Poe, being the adventurer that he was, couldnt settle for being a tobacco farmer like his grandfather Thomas Poe, in fact he wanted to get far away from Kentucky and find his fortune and to find adventure. His grandfather felt that John would "go to the dog's" if he strayed too far from home. John set his sites on prooving that he had the pioneer spirit and was going to make good for himself.
