This is THE best overall guide to amish-style cooking i've ever seen!
This is not just a cookbook, but also a story about a family who run a restaurant in the heart of amish country. Arranged in "chapters" that read like short stories and are comprised of seasonal menus, this is the best cookbook i've ever come across about amish-style cooking. it is very clear and easy to follow and contains just about every recipe that you may want to try if you've ever had the pleasure of dining at a real amish or mennonite restaurant. Among some of the recipes: apple dumplings, corn pudding, shoofly pie, dill pickles, noodles, fried chicken, cakes, all sorts of vegetables, jelly and wine making, and many many more! you will not be disappointed with this book! I would give this book as a gift to my closest friends!This is not just a cookbook, but also a story about a family who run a restaurant in the heart of amish country.
