worth a second view
An offshoot of Stargate SG-1 Stargate Atlantis is better than I remembered. Well worth a second view. Aggravations are the derivative writing and the appearance of many actors from SG-1 barely disguised to play new roles. The occasional appearance by the main SG-1 characters in their original roles is a plus.

I absolutely LOVE this show. My husband is a Stargate SG1 fan and for the last 5 years I have made fun of him about it. But he finally convinced me to sit down and watch an episode of Atlantis and within 10 minutes I was hooked. We personally own all 3 seasons and I watch every Friday night for the newest episode of season 4. I purchased this season as well as season 1 for my sister. She visited us over Christmas and after a little bit of coaxing she was also hooked and wanted to catch up on previous seasons. Since then I have "converted" at least 2 more people into avid watchers!! I love the fact that there is more than just gunfights with funky looking aliens. There is a story and you follow the relationships the team has with each other as well as with the people of other worlds. Long ... I absolutely LOVE this show. A KEEPER. WORTH EVERY PENNY, AND EVERY MINUTE.
As a fan, and collector, of Sci-Fi, the SG1 and Atlantis series are among my all-time favorites. (I grew up with the original Star-Trek.) In season 2, great new characters were added, and the show began to come into it's own. To grow apart from, but at the same time still be connected to Stargate SG1. This allowed the writers to bring favorites from the original into the new, without making it all one show. The SFX (special effects) were always, not only comparable, but sometimes even more advanced those of SG1. If you like Stargate SG1 you will love this show, and this season, and if you have never seen SG1, and like Atlantis, you will want to own all seasons of both.As a fan, and collector, of Sci-Fi, the SG1 and Atlantis series are among my all-time favorites. Atland Season 2 is Awesome!
Wow! More of the same cool things that made me call in love with the first season. When I saw that Season 2 has released, I couldn't wait to snatch it up. I was sad to see Lt. Ford fade out, but Ronan is just cool enough to make up for it. Anyway, If they keep this up, I can see myself loving the series for as long as they keep it around. *Crosses Fingers* Hopefully at least as long as they kept around SG-1.Wow! More of the same cool things that made me call in love with the first season. When I saw that Season 2 has released, I couldn't wait to snatch it up. I was sad to see Lt. Stargate Atlantis Season Two
This is an excellent show that continues the action, adventure, humor, and everything that was great about SG1. The second season of Atlantis is just as action-packed as the first as they continue to battle the wraith. A new dimension is also added to the show as the Daedalus becomes a common fixture during this season. Overall it's an exciting show and season that is very, very funny.
