Das Nikon Nikkor AF-S 24-120 mm f/4.0 II VR ED Objektiv ist eine Universal-Objektiv für jede Nikon Spiegelreflexkamera. Es hat eine Abmessung von 84x103,5 mm und ein Gewicht von 710 g. Die größeren Abmessungen und das etwas höhere Gewicht ergeben sich durch die 17 hochwertigen Linsen und die damit verbundene hohe konstante Lichtstärke im Vergleich zu anderen Objektiven. Das Nikon Nikkor Objektiv besitzt eine Brennweite von 24-120 mm, was in etwa einen 5-fach Zoom entspricht. Damit wird ein großer Brennweitenbereich abgedeckt, vom Weitwinkel bis zu einem kleinen Tele. Somit ist es ein idealer Begleiter auf Reisen, da durch den großen Brennweitenbereich einem ständiger Objektivwechsel vermieden wird. Besonders auffallend für das Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm 4.0 ist die hohe durchgehende Lichtstärke von 4.0. Somit steht selbst im leichten Tele-Bereich noch eine hohe Lichtstärke zur Verfügung, um in dunklen Umgebungen verwacklungsfreie Bilder zu schießen. Unterstützt wird das Nikon Nikkor Objektiv dabei außerdem durch den integrierten optischen Bildstabilisator. Dieser ermöglicht eine bis zu vier Blendenstufen längere Belichtungszeit. Das Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm 4.0 Objektiv ist mit einem Silent-Wave-Motor ausgestattet, welcher schnell, leise und sehr präzise fokussiert. Für das kreative Spielen mit Tiefenunschärfe steht als kleinste Blende die 22 zur Verfügung. Der Filterdurchmesser des Nikon Nikkor Objektiv beträgt 77 mm, somit können auf dem Universal-Objektiv eine große Anzahl von verschiedenen Filtern montiert werden.
