Traditionally, lace weaves have been used for fine linens, and most recently in the fashion and art fabric worlds. While "true" laces are laboriously made with needles or bobbins, the handweaver can use a loom to quickly produce lovely, lacy fabrics. The simplest weaves produce overall patterns.
