Battle for air supremacy in 100+ fighter/bomber/jet planes faithful to the war including the Wildcat, the Hurricane, the IL-2, and even the nimble Boomerang.     Challenging, difficult aviator game that keeps you trying.

    Challenging game that requires you to learn to fly by its rules. Beautiful graphics are so detailed, you see the shimmer on the ocean and detail in the trees of the jungle. Sound effects are loud and accurate. Controls work well. Nice features allow you to tailor the the game's sound design to your own personal tastes; ie, individual levels for voice, sound-effects and music. Over-all a fun flying game simulation that won't leave you bored in the first few minutes, but challenged to continue to advance and learn the various skills and techniques to navigate you WW2 fighter plane through the skies for dogfights, bomb and torpedo drops.

    Remembering the forgotten game genre.

    Quality flight simulation games are hard to come by, especially ones that give a sense of realism and historical accuracy. Birds of Steel delivers with a number of impressive features. The graphics are incredible. It's not only the realistic rendering of the aircraft, but also the incredible landscape. Rather than paste and copy scenery that regenerates over and over, the terrain continues to change and undulate with topographical accuracy. The gameplay is quite sufficient, although handling the planes with the difficulty raised to "realistic" or "simulator" can be quite challenging. As far as soundtracks go, this game is top notch. Implementation of powerful classical music and tracks recorded specifically for the game dramatically enhance the mood and create an atmosphere that puts ...

    A suprisingly good flight sim.

    A rare gem of a flight sim on PS3, the way the flight controls and dynamics of the flying work are prob one of the best you will get on a PS3 era game. Its got more FLIGHT sim to it then you can expect. You really have to take into account the flight characteristics of a plane, its not an arcade style shooter. This is worth getting if your a ww2 flight combat fan.
