About this product

Product Information

Video games get a step closer to Hollywood with the PlayStation video game “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.” With a release date at the end of 2007, it follows the adventures of the treasure hunter, Nathan Drake, as he goes after the coffin of Sir Francis Drake. A 400-year-old clue is all that he has to get him started. Along the way to find the lost reassure of El Dorado in South America, he soon meets some amazing characters, including Victor “Sully” Sullivan, a retired man getting too old to be shot at, and a reporter named Elena Fisher. They all work together to help Mr. Drake, the supposed descendant of the famous explorer Sir Francis Drake. In this game, pirates are hunting for the same fortune and are trying to kill you. Your adrenaline builds when you guide Drake and his friends as they fight to survive on an island filled with pirates. This game helps to push the Sony PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 to the limits with its exciting gun play. See this by the way the bullets fly and how the sun naturally falls through the trees. “Uncharted” features a third-person shooter style of play that eventually changes at the end to add some massive replay value. The third-person shooter style of play involves a lot of shooting and seeking cover behind objects from enemies and their gunfire. There is also hand to hand combat, machine guns, and using the environment to your advantage. Another amazing breakthrough in the gameplay is the mechanic of jumping between cliffs. In other games where you raid treasures, you would have to line up the character just right to jump. Miss just a little bit, and you would fall and kill your character. In this game, Drake runs up to a cliff and simply jumps to the other side, which eliminates a great amount of gaming frustration. What also helps with the replay value of this game are the sixty trophies that need to be found. These trophies come from Drake executing headshots a certain number of times on enemies, hitting certain moves a certain way, or finding a trophy item laying around. These treasures are traded for new gaming costumes for Drake or even new weapons. Even more excitement is created through the exotic surroundings, including mysterious catacombs, lush gardens, and ancient forts that contain fortune.Players with their PS3 or PS4 play this game from Naughty Dog. It is the first game in the now long and successful “Uncharted” fortune hunting series. Some of the vehicles in “Uncharted” that you get to drive in this game are jeeps with a machine gun on the back and a jet ski. The story is told through HD graphics and motion capture technology that really gives the game life and a good feel. The game plays out in a similar fashion to how action and adventure movies are shown in the cinema but layered with deception. There are cutaway scenes, a beautiful musical score, and great voice acting. All this adds up to a great “Uncharted” adventure for your PS3 games collection.

  • Beautiful looking game.

I decided to buy this after reading several reviews praising the graphics. This is an absolutely beautiful looking game. It's a nice action/adventure game with a nice mix of shooting/running/jumping/puzzle solving. None of the puzzles are too hard, and if you take too long the game will offer you a hint of what you're supposed to do next. The game moves along nicely between firefights and climbing/scaling walls to get to the next area. Overall the game is a little easy (for me). The shooting/aiming system leaves something to be desired, but it works. One shot kills are not easy, if at all possible in this game most of the time. It often takes 5-7 shots to kill an enemy, which is kinda lame. However this is not a FPS game so I should have expected that. But the real reason I got this game ...

  • Very entertaining, for most ages

Very vivid and realistic rendering, sometimes too vivid, when looking around for treasure artefacts. at any rate, the controls are very simple, at times you wish there was a 'lock-on-target' button, it would help if there was a 'strafe' function too. the weapons you are allowed to carry are a handgun, a submachine gun (or shotgun) and up to four grenades. this offers limited choice, but somewhat adds to the suspense of the game evolution and difficulty. the roleplay is quite simple and lacks in difficulty, the puzzles are very easy to figure out. If there was obstacles/puzzles like say in thePrince of Persia series, it would increase the feeling of reward in the game's progression. however, as the game is currently, it makes it more of a shooter than a role play/thinking game. Sound ...

  • Meet a new hero for the ages - Nathan Drake

Good: Lush jungle environments are stunningly realized; Drake's animations are nuanced and naturalistic; Good character development and voice acting. Bad: Tough and plentiful enemies can make firefights frustrating; Platforming elements can be too forgiving; Certain story elements are underdeveloped. It took us about eight hours to get through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and it was an action-packed eight hours, without much in the ways of load times or informational status screens to break it up. The imbalance between the gunplay and the platforming is jarring but forgivable--but the platforming itself works pretty well and looks fantastic thanks to the game's excellent motion-captured animation. If nothing else, Uncharted is a graphical showcase for the PlayStation 3, and it dazzles the ...

  • Very good game. Smooth functions and playability.

This game was for a PS3 platform. It was fairly simple to learn the controls and the game very well. I actually played this game myself. You got a lot of game play for your dollar. The storyline was good. The graphics and sound were excellent. The game is bloody and violent. Shooting zombies is one thing, blowing up "real people" is another. There were two points in the game were I had to seek professional assistance (my gamer son) to get me out of trouble with what appeared to be an endless attack by zombies. What I really liked was the "easy game mode" that provided hints if you didn't "get it" in terms of the games strategy. Further, if you were being relentlessly creamed by the bad guys, it would advance you forward beyond that point before you destroyed the Playstation in ...
