An Entertaining Animated Film
This film is a spin-off from the emmy winning Batman: The Animated Series, and is done in the style of the earlier shows (before the revamp). Much of the action focuses not on Batman, but on Mr. Freeze himself and on the relationship between Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon. This is a bold move, as the draw has always been Batman himself. Fans of animated offerings in general, and the DC Animated Universe in particular, will not be disappointed in this feature. It is not as brilliant as Mask of the Phantasm, as disturbing as Return of the Joker, or as vibrant as Mystery of the Batwoman, but it is a strong entry in the Batman mythos anyway. And of course, Kevin Conroy is the only true Batman. Batman animated series film, Subzero...
I like the Batman animated series mainly for the writing. The writers make you care about the characters. This paticular story has holes but its still fun to watch. The animation while being cartoonish is still very cinematic with great camera angles and nice effects with light and shadow. It has an almost film noir feel to it. While I'm no Siskle or Ebert, I have no problem recommending this movie to anyone age 5 to 95.I like the Batman animated series mainly for the writing. The writers make you care about the characters. This Product was a good price and the movie was about as good as the 90's animated Batman Series, I enjoyed it better than some of the live action batman movies.
