I got it originally because my daughter dated one of the musicians when he played with Joan Jett and wanted to see him..also because I knew the movie related to Elvis Presley,one of my favorites when I was younger.It had a cute story and was,in my opinion,very light and fun to watch.Kind of reminded me of something my friends and I would have done at that age!!And he was sooo good and thoughtful of his Mom..just a "feel good"show!!It was well worth what I paid for it and I will watch it many more times,I am sure.I got it originally because my daughter dated one of the musicians when he played with Joan Jett and wanted to see him..also because I knew the movie related to Elvis Presley,one of my favorites when I was younger.It had a cute story and was,in my opinion,very light and fun to watch.Kind of reminded me of something my friends and I would have done at that age!!And he was sooo good and thoughtful of his Mom..just a "feel good"show!!It was well worth what I paid for it and I will watch it many more times,I am sure.

Put reality aside...
and allow yourself to enjoy this entertaining and thoughtful movie. It took a while for me to adjust to David Keith playing Elvis. But, he shines in this movie. I love the relationship between the son and his mother (played by Tuesday Weld; who gives her usual terrific performance in this movie and actually dated Elvis back in 1961 when they filmed "Wild in the Country" together) The movie is a fantasy. So, you have to permit yourself to just let go and appreciate the film for what it is. The movie is no masterpiece. Elvis as he really was, a gentle heart
I wanted to buy this movie because I like Elvis, since I was twelve years old. I watched him on the Ed Sullivan show, played his records, etc. I always thought there was something magicial about Elvis and he really had talent and he overcame great poverty. I liked this movie because it shows him as a caring, compassionate human. I don't think this movie got very much attention but it should have, I highly recommend it, it tells a great story.I wanted to buy this movie because I like Elvis, since I was twelve years old.
