About this product

Product Information

A group of blackmailed guests gather in a remote mansion, hosted by a daffy butler (Tim Curry), in this campy adaptation of the popular board game. Suspicions flare when their ostensible extortionist, Mr. Boddy, appears--and drops dead in the study. Hidden passageways, double entendres, and creative murder weapons come into play as bodies drop, disappear, and reappear on one dark and stormy night. An all-star cast assume the roles of Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), and the rest of the multicolored bunch as the one-liners fly in this jaunty whodunit. It all concludes with three alternate endings that let viewers decide who the real murderer was.

    Introducing Classics to kids

I am in my late 30's. I grew up with this being one of my favorite movies. Recently my 12 year old son has been really into movies. He loves clue the game so I bought him the movie for his birthday. He loved it so much he watched it 3 times over the weekend! Now I'm ordering all my old favorites. He loves older movies. But clue is a must for any movie collection!

  • Top critical review

Interesting, dark, comedic, plotless frantic action.

Wierd, dark murder-mystery/comedy. Worth watching once, not again. Plot (if any) was difficult-to-impossible to follow. Three "alternate endings" were unrelated and each built on no "clues" earlier shown. Film title and character names was drawn from the board game, but the plot (if any) was more like that of "Ten Little Indians". Interesting to watch once.

  • CLUE the movie

This movie was based on the board game I loved as a kid, the nice thing about Clue is you could play it over and over again [helpful on a rainy day] and it would be different, because the clues were different etc, so for pure nostalgia, it was ideal, to often movies that are from childhood fun memories such as comic books, movie remakes, or movies based on tv series etc are either to mocking or just to tacky, but this is a movie that holds its own, even if someone didn't know or play clue growing up, they could watch this comedy/ mystery and love it, laugh, and enjoy trying to figure things out, the clever play on words the excellent casting, the talent of the actors didn't have to try to overcome the story because the story was fun, funny, clever, and it just managed to work well, that ...

  • Dumb Fun

This is a movie based on the board game, so right away your thinking it isn't going to be any good, how can they possibly make a movie based off from a board game? Some how they seemed to make it work. They have taken an all star cast and them into possible killers. In the movie they actually give a face and name to the person killed that is not in the board game. They also give you a reason as to why the person is killed. The characters at times are a bit dimwitted but it makes it more fun to watch the antics that ensue. Depending on the version you get, at the end they end up doing three scenarios as to could have done it, but in the end it is up to the viewer to decide. I love this movie, it is a guilty pleasure for me. It is funny!
