About this product

Product Information

A new and updated tour of 53 of Pennsylvania's breweries and brewpubs. Beer writer and connoisseur Lew Bryson brings new establishments to the list, revisits some old favorites, relates some of the history of brewing in the state, and gives information for each site on tours, beers brewed, food served, and nearby lodging and attractions, along with his pick of favorite beer for each brewery. REVIEWS: "Written in a friendly, conversational style, as if the author himself is conducting the tour or simply explaining a lot of history and beer over a cool one. Don't travel the Keystone State without it." --American Breweriana Journal 53 illustrations

Very good seller: tight prices, very good packaging, good communication. Book arrived impeccable, in a perfectly fitting protective box. (With other US or UK sellers, it's often just a plastic bag). Recommended!

  • Best beer book you can buy

Lew Bryson does a fantastic job of detailing all available breweries in the keystone state. It's a great read for the biggest beer fans to someone who is just interested in going some place different. It's written by geographic region so that if you travel to say, Pittsburgh, you can have all of the information about breweries in that area in one section. The book also offers other things, like place to go and see and other hot points in each region. The stories of the breweries are fantastic and are great for conversation with anyone who enjoys a good beer. The show they did based on the book on wqed (public broadcasting) is a great addition to the book. If you enjoy beer and history of beer, at any level, this is a book for you.

  • Great reference, will help in my motorcycle tours in 09

Contains many highlights, facts, histories, etc. of the subject matter. Helps to bring a higher standard to art of craft beers and helps change the pre-microbrew attitudes of beer and non-beer drinkers alike. Now craft breweries can join the class of artisans such as wine makers and this book highlights the offerings of the great state of Pennsylvania.
