I am a Prime Suspect Fan. Lost my copies during an unfortunate incident and recently was feeling nostalgic. Found this on Ebay and took a chance getting the entire series. I assumed it would be worn and would possibly not play well. I was wrong. It is the entire series and works fine, thus far. I have no reason to think there are problems with the discs. Can't wait to share with friends that have been listening to me brag on this series with Dame Helen Mirren. Thanks for the quick and well protected shipment.I am a Prime Suspect Fan. Do Not Recommend - thoroughly disappointed!!
I do not like the unnecessary nudity - & most importantly DO NOT like hearing the Lord's name taken in vain!!!! After one episode, I put it back in the box & will not watch any more of it. This is not in the least entertaining. Do Not Recommend!!!

PRIME SUSPECT is very well done and the DVD set provides great options!
In looking for quality videos such as this, my research indicated that the Prime Suspect series was very good. Since I'm a fan of Helen Mirren, I hoped the series would be worthwhile. By shopping a bit I was able to buy at a very reasonable price, which made buying a sensible choice. Now that I've seen it, I can confirm that this very well done show is worth watching (& having). This was my first purchase of an ACORN production and, my hearing being what it is, I was certainly pleased with the fact that they included subtitles as an option. So many movies are useless to me, since "background music & sounds" have become more important than the dialect and the desire to present "realism" has resulted in poorly recorded dialect being the norm. All-in-all, ... In looking for quality videos such as this, my research indicated that the Prime Suspect series was very good. Since I'm a fan of Helen Mirren, I hoped the series would be worthwhile. Prime Suspect - Boxed Set
I bought this whole series because I'm a Helen Mirren fan. It's obvious that while she is a world-class artist, we would never know it if it weren't for series as well-crafted as Prime Suspect. Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison is a complex, nuanced character and Ms. Mirren plays her with deep understanding and commitment. Each episode deals with current social issues and rather than emphasizing procedural elements, the stories involve DCI Tennison; her flaws, her triumphs, her ambition, and her place as a woman in a profession dominated by men. Yes, her career is admittedly in a "boys club" atmosphere, but the writers resist the tendency to depict all the men as chauvinist pigs. She wins some, she loses some, and some are rained out. But she slogs on ... I bought this whole series because I'm a Helen Mirren fan. It's obvious that while she is a world-class artist, we would never know it if it weren't for series as well-crafted as Prime Suspect. Fun, exciting, intelligent, breathtaking...You can't miss this one.
I watched this series long time ago and it has always be my favorite. The script is the most subtle and was carefully and skillfully written. The characterization (the middle age/chain smoker/heavy drinker/charming--DCI Jane Tennison) is even superb. Jane Tennison is alway the icon of real human.. Although,she has many weak points (control freak syndrome, burning ambition, workaholic habit, competitiveness) with her articulate skill and experiences, that can't stop her to drive to the very end to get the criminals.
