  • Simply Devine? More like "The Devine Tragedy"

A Green Bay native growing up in the '70s, I always heard the horror stories about Dan Devine and his four years with the team. Before 1995, the last Packers team to win their division was Devine's '72 squad, led by John Brockington. Why did things end in utter disaster in Green Bay? Whether from media types or players who worked for Devine, the basic thought on Devine was he was driven soley by his career, and did not care for much else. This book attempts to change that perception, but instead just sounds like a whiny kid trying to alter history. Devine trying to pass off his infmaous John Hadl trade as GOOD for the frannchise, and his slimy move to drain extra money from the team before he ran off to Notre Dame, just comes off smarmy. Oh, and congrats for winning the national ...

  • A Wonderful Book

People now are recognizing Dan Devine as a great coach. He did well, I thought.

  • Simply Devine is a very appropriate title

Brought back a lot of memories of Notre Dame Football. and the 1977 National Championship team.
