About this product

Product Information

Blast back to the past, and immerse yourself in a fantastically 8-bit world. Final Fantasy is one of the biggest titles in the role-playing genre, and this is the game that started it all. Travel with the four Light Warriors, completing quests across the map and fighting evil forces and explore a world filled with magic and adventure. Players familiar with the series will no doubt recognize the turn-based system and the six available classes, but the game still offers plenty for novice and veteran gamers alike, including a surprisingly lovely musical soundtrack. This 1990 release for the Nintendo NES serves as both an introduction to and a reminder of the roots of console RPGs.

    The Best rpg on nes.

I vividly remember renting this game after riding my bmx too the video story wayyyyy back when this was new. I threw a few wadded pieces of dollar bills for the charge and promptly biked home too try it out, I loved it. I never even knew until final fantasy 7 that this series was a thing. I just liked playing it and getting lost in it's complexity, and green swords! I played this for hours and hours never beating it until many years later on a ps1 compilation cd, now it's time too buy and beat the original cartridge. I always and easily recommend this game too anyone that loves a good hard won adventure. And it has given me for the past 27 years, what a ride. ^^

    1st in the franchise!

Unless you have fond memories, this game is awful. Boring and did not age well. But hey, its the first in the franchise and its a collectible, so def deserves some space on your shelf!!

  • Final fantasy NES

I didn't play this game until after discovering FFVII and titles on the SNES (crono trigger, FFIII, ect) as a young teen, I traded some pokemon cards for a loose cartridge that said "Final Fantasy" I managed to get pretty far in game, not to any airships but i had the boat on the worldmap. "when the world is in darkness, four warriors will come" the music is awesome, the graphics are quirky but surprisingly good in some parts.. not the best game in the franchise, maybe arguably/objectively even on the NES itself. but this is the one the west saw first, spawning a wonderful series that lived on for generations. absolutely worth owning, especially for fans of the series. if you can snag it complete in box it comes with maps and other goodies expect the price to skyrocket after FF7 ...

  • Best RPG ever

This is by far the best RPG of all time. I'm not talking about the many ports of this game. The ports are so much easier to beat. The original is so difficult. You can only carry 99 heal options. You cannot save in a dungeon. You die in battle you cannot be revived until after the battle. It's so challenging that when you do finally restore the light to a crystal, you get this overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Each dungeon is harder than the previous until you get to the very last dungeon to find and defeat Chaos. The enemies are random and you can blow through your heal potions before you're half way to him. Buy this game, any Nintendo or RPG fan should have this in their collection.

  • Old school rpg

I bought this 30 years ago just a little nostalgia. I had to buy an adapter rca to hdmi so I can use my qled tv. The game is still enjoyable after all these years lmao
