    beautiful story for boys and girls alike

    This is a beautiful book giving a brief look into the life of a white boy who is captured by Indians in the early times of American history. As a child I was the only one who ever checked out this book in the school library of course I did not share well, I never turned it in! Nice having my own copy after all of these years and to relive the feelings Patricia Beatty brought to life in me as well as this particular book filling my imagination and creating my passion for reading as well as building my foundation for appreciation of other cultures because she made both sides of the story real. One of the best points of this book is that both boys and girls can read the story and relate to the characters! Full of horses, chases, fear, strength, family devotion, and hope...wonderful ending. ...
