Great, well built holder
I needed a spare tire holder for my car trailer that I was building. I had used Jeep wheels and had a fifth one as my spare. Because of the offset, it proved tough to weld up something that would work. I could this product on the web and found it cheapest here on eBay. Product arrives well packages and in good shape. Once unpacked, it was obvious that this was a heavy duty, quality piece. It had a nice crackle paint finish and came with clear and complete instructions and hardware. They even had greased the bolt holes...nice touch! While I can't say how well it will work on your Jeep, because that not what I used it for, I can say that it fit my needs perfectly. I assembled it and welded it to my spare tire mount on the trailer and it is awesome. Holds my heavy spare tire with ease and ... I needed a spare tire holder for my car trailer that I was building. Heavy Duty, Great Finish...
Great product, just a few things to consider. The supplied mounting bolts are metric M8 x 25. The thread of the lugs on the tailgate of my 01 Tj are SAE 5/8-18...so the kit bolts wouldn't work on my Jeep (If the bolts are difficult to thread, don't force them or they will strip out). Easy fix though ,I just bought 4 grade 8, 5/8-18 bolts at the hardware store for $3. If you have an aftermarket bumper clearance may be an issue depending on tire size. 33/12.5 x 15's on 10" rims only cleared my Quadratec QRC bumper by about 3/4 of an inch....35's definitely would not fit...with a stock bumper you should be fine. Rugged Ridge spare tire carrier
I definitely recommend this product! Very strong and handles larger tires and wheels. Mine are 17inch with 33 inch tires and fits great just above the rear bumper. No more squeaks and cracks like my stock tire carrier.
