    Most of what you would like to know about coal railroading.

    Very informative book, well illustrated, and written in easy to understand language so that you have a pretty complete idea of how the coal industry works in conjunction with the railroads. The author knows his stuff, and relates it in a way that will get you interested and keep you reading to find out more.

    Cool book on coal railroads

    This is another fine example in the growing collection of Rail road books from Kalmbach publishing. The book is well written with a wealth of photos of trains, coal facilities, mines and camps. There are even several photos of the ever ubiquitous company store. I used the book to piece together plans for my own large scale coal facility. A really good source for this particular type of RR industry.
