THE original Hayward skimmer basket,m FAR better than teh copies
Chlorine affects the skimmer basket's plastic, so they do not last for ever. However, from my experience, teh original Hayward products last far longer than cheaper alternatives. Probably better endurance of plastic materials against chlorine, I presume. So I use it, and recommend that you do too.

This skimmer does nt fit my pool
This skimmer is too small for my pool so I cannot use it. I obviously ordered the wrong skimmer. My correct skimmer is SP-1082-C.

Skimmer basket
Basket is light and floats when pump is off. Ours flipped over when pump was off and blocked inlet door when we turned it back on. Pump ran for about 15 minutes without water before we heard a bunch of noise from pump. May have caused damage to pump. A warning should be posted that this could happen. The one we replaced did not float. Shouldn't have to put rock in bottom of basket to keep it in place.Basket is light and floats when pump is off.
