About this product

Product Information

David Hall

The 1944 is scarcer in mint state condition than the 1941, 1942, 1943, and 1945. Most specimens have white frosty luster. But unlike the other 1940s P-Mints, strike on the 1944 can sometimes be a little soft and mushy. Strike is not anywhere near as bad as on the S-Mints, but this issue is usually not quite as sharp as the other P-Mints.

  • Awesome sauce heavy weight

The toning is excellent on obverse & reverse and the color is something you don't find ever day on a coin this in my opinion and I say this is an awesome coin or a gem's gem very very high grade.

  • The Walking Liberty Half Dollar is the finest coin ever produced.

The Walking Liberty Half Dollar 90% Silver Coin was designed by Adolph A. Weinman and produced at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints during the period beginning with 1916 and ending in 1947. The Philadelphia Mint produced 28,206,000 1944 Walking Liberty Half Dollars of which only 4445 half dollars were graded Mint State 65 by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Due to the scarcity of coins in Gem condition (MS 65 to MS70), coin collectors pay about $140 retail (PCGS guide price) for these almost perfect (MS 65) coins. The coin I purchased is a superb example of the 1944-P and is as bright and handsome as the day it was struck.

  • A Coin for the Ages...

Probably the most beautiful coin every minted! If you love 90% silver you have to won one or more of these!
