Product Information
Before the Konga class battle cruiser design was created, a similar type of British ship construction had been studied thoroughly (Thunderer, Neptune, Lion, and Indefatigable). During a council held on April 13, 1910, an order for a new class of ships was discussed, but a final decision was not made until May 23, 1910. In December 1910, during the Parliament meeting, the Japanese Prime Minister proposed construction of, as he described them in his speech, "huge armored cruisers" based on the British Invincible class.

This 24-page book is filled with 3D drawings of sections of the ship, including a look at the multi-level structure of the bridges 'slice by slice'. Add views of details like the various types of armament, aircraft catapults and even winches. To go with it, tucked between the pages, are three large fold-out sheets. Two of these give large 1/200 scale line drawings of the Haruna, while the third sheet has full colour illustrations, with 1/360 scale views on one side, and then a 3/4 view plus detailed illustrations of ships boats and the aircraft catapult on the the other. For anyone wanting to detail a model, or perhaps use these to scratch-build their own in whatever scale, this is a first class reference to work from.
