Hexalite = acrylic = plastic
First off...the watch itself is very nice. The watch is much smaller than most on the market today (which is what I wanted since I have a small wrist). The band is terribly cheap...like something you would find on a toy watch for your 5-yr old (and wraps down around and underneath the watch)...it is crackerjack box basic (typical military). The tritium face works great...the tritium tubes appear to be about at their half life point in comparison with another watch I have...but easily visible in the dark...which is what I needed. What I really want is a watch with a crystal face. This watch is sold with a "spin" on the face cover ("scratch resistant Hexalite"). So...let's be honest here...that is just a fancy name for an acrylic or "plastic" face. So be prepared to have to buff it ... First off...the watch itself is very nice. Fantastic watch made with precision and care
This is a small watch by today's standards but actually quite functional. I bought this as an eval to see how bright the tritium tubes are before deciding if I will by the 41mm GSAR. Watch is very lightweight, keeps excellent time and the tritium illumination is fantastic. No concerns at all about quality control. This is a well made timepiece and an excellent basic function field watch. I love that I can wear this working on the car, in the shop or just chopping wood. It's simple to read, lightweight to wear and bright as heck at night! This is a small watch by today's standards but actually quite functional.
