The lens was very well packaged and arrived quickly. Although there was one issue with the condition that was not apparent in the photos or the description, the seller was very good and communicating and provided a partial refund (and also offered a no-fees return if I didn't want to keep the lens).

Heavy as an elephant but worth it

Not much more to be said about this lens. It's a beast but it's sharp and darn quick. With the 1.4 teleconverter you can more than keep up with the big boys sporting 600mm and 500mm lens. True it's not something you use every day but if you are interested in wildlife and birds it's a great way to go if you don't want to spend the REALLY big bucks.

  • How to play 28~70 F2.8D AF-s

This lens EXcellent about many wayS, better when we use by DX cameras (means D3 be number one, because D3 can crop size (42~105mm),to me I feel comfortable of the size and weight, any way we need one extra wider lenses for style of outdoor, indoor so well with 28 mm,this lens look solid and beauty....as if 17~35mm F2.8D pretty more than them,I'm not sure manything with it,We must use and testing, and hear feedback from many the Master. This Lens of Japanese made not Germanier can't expect more have limit of it,Don't forget shot with backlight of ray-light or overcast ,THX

  • GREAT lens, amazing image quality

I've had several iterations of this lens over the years, as well as the 17-55 DX f/2.8, the 17-35 f/2.8, the 35-70 f/2.8, and the 20-35 f/2.8... I'm selling the most recent copy to make room for my new 24-70 f/2.8... I'm selling it with mixed emotions,m though. The 28-70 has less distortion, at several key focal lengths, in its zoom range compared to the 24-70, and it is equally sharp stopped down. Many pros feel that the 28-70 has a more pleasing color 'palette' than the 24-70, most agree that it is almost as sharp wide-open. Also, it's 'stubbier', shorter and wider than the new Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8. I've found that I prefer the 28-70's shape and balance on my D3 to the D3+24-70 combo... all that said, the 28-70 remains one of the handful of ...

  • Nikon AF-S 28-70mm/f2.8ED with D2Xs shooting

I write this letter to who...they liked both system Canon & Nikon...I am a customer on Canon company to present...This is a first I bought D2Xs on Ebay...Brand new...from a photography (Planning for business) on 12/2008...After that...I watched some Nikon lenses on Ebay....I bought Nikon 24-120mm VR...I testing this lense w/filter Hoya HMC...very nice picture...without Flash...Next I bought Nikon 24mm/f2.8D...I testing...Wow...wow.....And then I sold my Canon 28-70mm/f2.8L...(I still have 1D mk. IIN & 28mm/f1.8). .....I had learned inside manual book for 3 days...to setting up on Nikon D2Xs...after that I bid on Nikon AF-S 28-70mm/f2.8...Why I bought it!..If you compared the price both lenses Canon/Nikon 28-70mm.. These were very different: Surface lense...I just received on ...

  • Buy One !!!! You'll never regret it

I just received this lens from an ebay sale and all I can say is that it's an awesome. I don't take my photo gear purchases lightly, often taking months to make decisions after lots of homework. This lens was well worth the wait and the payment. It's tack sharp, even at f2.8, although I'll admit I've not gone "big" with an image yet to check the corners, etc. It is on the heavy side, but not so much that it's worth all the fuss so many owners complain about. It performs so well that if weight is all you have to complain about, you've made the right decision. I looked at the 24-70 f2.8 as well, but could not justify the price. All the reviews say it's sharper, faster (focusing), etc, but it's almost 2x what I paid for "the beast." Invest in good lens and you'll really appreciate the ...
