  • A handheld system way ahead of its time

    As the very first handheld game system designed by Jay Smith of Vectrex fame, this system has the distinction of beating the Nintendo Game Boy for being an interchangeable cartridge system by a full decade!! Although primitive using a simple LCD screen, block graphics (no true characters or detailed graphics) and using batteries faster than a vintage Hemi drinks gas, this is a true retro game gem. Using interchangeable cartridges to play different games, the offerings are limited with Cosmic Hunter, Alien Hunter, Connect Four, Star Trek Phaser Battle, Sea Duel, and the pack in game Block Buster, being the best this system offers. In addition, there is only simple bleeps and squeaks with the exception of Sea Duel which plays a simple nautical tune. Play is accomplished by a dial and keypad ...
