"Proving that the power of teen love trumps even Heavenly directives, a budding graphic artist hooks up with an ethereally handsome new classmate. Morning Glory's miserable life at her clique-heavy high school takes a turn for the better with the arrival of hot, strangely naïve Gabriel DiAngelo. A supposedly chance meeting at the local thrift store escalates into movie dates and breathless snogging. Complications arise with the subsequent appearance of Gabriel's catty but equally stunning relative Luci DiAngelo, who displays a gift for inciting divisiveness and violence. In the black-and-white art, Morning Glory--dark-skinned and serious-looking in rimless glasses--and Gabriel, with his manga-style features and artfully disheveled blond hair, make a cute couple. In the end, Luci is sent back where she came from. After a climactic revelation ('You had wings!' 'Did not.' 'Did too! What are you?' 'Can't you guess?'), Gabriel confesses that he's a Guardian actually sent to help Morning Glory's friend Julia through some family troubles, freshening up the now-tired guardian-angel-falls-in-love-with-human-ward trope considerably. Another fresh and funny outing in a mostly solid satiric series." --Kirkus Reviews, "Proving that the power of teen love trumps even Heavenly directives, a budding graphic artist hooks up with an ethereally handsome new classmate. Synopsis
Life isn't exactly paradise for aspiring artist Morning Glory Conroy. Anxious about an upcoming comics festival and worried about her best friend Julia's deteriorating home life, Glory has enough to juggle without also being swept off her feet by the guy Julia likes. Gabriel is the answer to every girl's prayers: sweet, full of wonder at the world, and divinely handsome. But does he count as a real boyfriend if his overbearing guardian forbids even kissing? Not to mention the added complication of his mischievous cousin Luci trailing Glory's every move just to cause trouble. Glory is in for a startling revelation when she discovers Gabriel's true identity--and learns that their romance has distracted him from an important mission. Will it take a miracle to sort out this mess, or can Glory move heaven and earth to help the people she loves?

- y***s (182)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseAs others have mentioned, shipping is very slow and communication is non-existent. The book I received had formerly library nations in it, and damaged corners and dust jacket, none of which was indicated in the listing. The book was shipped in a flimsy, thin envelope. I would not recommend this seller.Malaysia:A Pictorial History 1400 - 2004, Moore, Wendy, Very Good Book (#186847997910)
