The dowels are rather useless, the brackets are what holds the three panels together. Lift it carefully otherwise the brackets may pull out. The bracket screws are a challenge to screw in. They are hard to make go straight in. Don't put the pads on until you know where to place them. Once they are on they will be ruined if you need to re adjust them. I appreciate the tools used to assemble come with the unit.
