    perfect starter set

    I purchased this starter set for under our xmas tree. I wanted an engine with a headlight which this one has because I also purchased a tunnel so my two grandsons would get a charge out of watching the train go through the tunnel with the headlight. The set is well made, easy to put together, the track assembly is much improved from years ago. It is important for anyone that is going to use this for under a tree that you get the 48" oval track set which this one has. Some of the starter sets come with a 36" circle which is too small for that purpose. Overall I'm very pleased with the set.

    The engine is heavy and good. The Head Light is dim. There is no rear Light. The cars and caboose have plastic wheel sets which are light and often turn 180 degrees causing derailing.
