      Extra Camera

      I received the Netgear Arlo 4-camera set for Christmas but wanted 5 cameras. I decided to go with this refurbished camera for the 5th camera. I can't tell a difference between this camera and the 4 new ones that came with the set. Appears as good as new. It had new batteries and all the hardware to mount it just like the others.

      Great Camera But Battery Life Is A Concern

      I really like the Arlo Wire-Free Security Camera. It said refurbished, but it looked new to me. Maybe it was a return. The picture quality is very good, and all of the features seem to work exactly as described. I could only find two problems with this camera. The first is battery life. The six month battery life is based on only 5 minutes of usage each day. The more the camera is used, the shorter the battery life. If it is used 15 minutes a day, the battery life would be reduced to two months. Batteries can be expensive, and climbing a ladder to replace them will not be fun. I now wish I had gotten a camera that could be wired into my house's electrical system so I could have the cameras on for longer periods of the day, or continuously. The other problem is the distance ...

      Only works when it wants to Not reliable

      When it works it is good however it has issues constantly it keeps saying request time has expired and it has only been a couple seconds It states it cannot log on because of no internet and it was proven that there was I have had to on several occasions turn the system completely off and then reconnect it would then only allow one camera to connect for a long time. I would have to take all the batteries out and let it sit over night and try again. It is good when working but not a reliable system If I could go back in time I would buy another brand

      Refurbished Problems

      Although this was refurbished, the camera still had problems eating batteries. A fresh set of batteries lasted about a week and a half. The battery life meter would immediately jump to 78% and hold there until the camera died a week later. My other cameras that are on the same settings, but have more recording activity have been going strong for 2 months. Based on other reviews, this sounds like a phenomenon with some of the new cameras. I was under the impression the refurbished ones fixed that issue. Apparently not with the one I purchased.
