Simple, yet effective
The first time I dropped the tailgate, I realized how easy it was to remove it. I saw this lock kit and immediately ordered it. The price was right, it's an OEM Ford part. It took about 10 minutes to install and it solves a major concern.

I didn’t realize how easy it was to remove my tailgate until I saw An article on its thieft this is an easy to install little device that helps protect it from being taken off. I know on pick up trucks the tailgates always get banged up and to buy a replacement one can run $2300. This device is under $30 and it takes about five minutes to install well worth the effort and peace of mind

Low-cost insurance from theft.
Super way to protect your tailgate from theft, as it secures the right hinge. Inexpensive way to not lose a valuable piece of your vehicle! It can be a little tricky getting the screw to engage the SS band, but well worth the time to get it right.
