    Sophisticated comedy, excellent production

    A thoroughly sophisticated comedy in an outstanding production, but with plenty of slapstick. This is a very funny opera.I am not easily amused, but I have watched this opera at least four times and I am still enjoying it. The two principal singers, Marilyn Brustadt and Michael Burt are excellent and perfect in their roles. I am surprised not to find out more about them on line. The plot is a comic blend of Mozart operas, principally Don Giovanni and Abduction from the Seraglio, with a little seasoning from Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, and Cosi Fan Tutte. The whole cast and the production are outstanding. I also enjoyed the 18th century cleavage.

    P.D.Q. Bach Strikes Again

    I've already ownd this movie about 10 years in VHS when I bought the DVD. It is our favorite musical spoof (tied with "Pirates of the Penzance"). It's a hilarious parady of Mozart's music and a funny twist on what really goes on during an operatic performance; VERY entertaining! Pirates, harems, love scenes, cat fights (human - not feline) and finally the audience getting involved. A must have!
