    Decent padals and cleats.

The quatro pedals are now discontinued, and these cleats are the last of their kind. My pedals have lasted only because my bike was stored for more than a few years and the quatro pedals did not suffer the fate most have seen with regular use and lots of miles which mine dont have. When my pedals bite the dust I will probably just go with trusty, TIME ATAC MTB, I am a nerd that will put mtb pedals on a full on carbon road bike only because I like the freedom to walk fairly uninhibited. I Dont need maximum power transfer as I am not competitive.

    Minimally effective solution

This is a basic hack to make two hole cleats work on three hole shoes. The good: easy to install and they work. The bad: the “treads” push on to plastic pins and are not very secure. A few dots of hot glue will make them more secure and you can still pry them off if you need to. The treads are hard plastic and provide little grip on the pavement and none on surfaces like tile. So getting to your bike, getting off and on, and getting back inside come with the same hazards as your standard cleat solutions like Look. In fairness, the solution is no worse than three hole cleats. They are just disappointing because a rubber tread that is securely attached would have been an innovation rather than a clueless hack.

  • Life’s too short to worry about pedals

As a lifelong cyclist, I have had many types of pedals, and these are the only ones that you always click into without having to worry or look or think. I use them on my S-Works Tarmac SL3 and and Camber 29r bikes. They are very easy to get out of also and never get dirty. The small cleats are easy to walk on compared to my old road biking plates, and one sided pedals.

  • Good option for using your road shoes with eggbeater-type pedals.

A good option for using your road shoes with eggbeater-type pedals. I haven't had them long enough to know how they'll last, but they seem pretty tough. The instructions are cursory, to say the least. In order to install them, you have to pull off the U-shaped tread part (held in by posts) in order to access the holes for the two lateral screws. Once you have all three screws secured, you do the adjustment, and then stick the tread part back on.

  • Easy out cleats

If you like Eggbeaters or Candies and want to use them on your road bike, these work great on three-hole road shoes. Very few road shoe models have a two-hole mounting system. The horseshoe-shaped top protects your cleats when you walk. It does, however, wear out after 2,000 miles or so. In all, a good solution. I've been using them for several years and wouldn't ride anything else.
