    Good choice

    Was skeptical about such a purchase but have been pleasantly surprised. Functions as new. Minor scuff mark on the lid but like new when open. Tweaked Windows 10 to look like Windows 7 (Prefer). Basic Windows 10 loaded and no junk programs. It's fast. My old computer was a Dell and held up through a lot of abuse from kids so I wanted another well built machine. This baby performs. Added some chair leg pads to the existing legs to give it more breathing room, just cut them to fit. It boots fast, runs fast, and performs beyond expectations. ECT is the way to go. Good job.

    good CPU for a file server

    I used this CPU to turn an old dell optiplex 320 into a file server that stays on 24/7. Originally the machine had a pentium 4 but I wanted to give the computer a little more power and this was the ticket for doing it. This ended up saving me over $100 because I didn't have to buy entirely new equipment for a dedicated file server.

    Fast, love it.

    These are very fast and stable. The motherboard (socket 775) must support this type for it to run, which is important. If you buy a motherboard and plan to update the BIOS to accomodate, just remember some boards are made as corporate OEM's, and lack the process hooks. In other words, the corporation can make the board impossible to flash, and need not tell you. Buy retail or a board that states it will take the cpu.

    Good But Not Great

    Bought this to build a spare desktop computer with a lot of parts I already had lying around. Needed a LGA 775, so a Core 2 Duo was a pretty obvious choice at this point. Didn't want to spend a whole lot, and this ended up fitting into my budget the best. I really would have liked the E6600 at 2.4 GHz instead because this is just, and I mean just, a little slower than I would like. Great product but next time I would spend a little more to go one step up.
