    good smart phone for people who want the basic smart phone features

    the phone has an amazing battery life with 4800 mah. You can drop it as many times as you want and it'll never brake, you can put it in water and it wont brake. The only thing i dont like about the phone is that it only has 1 gb of data so the phone can act a little slow sometimes.

    Disappointed

    I was very excited to receive my Sonim XP7, however, the excitement was quickly followed by the frustration of trying to get it turned on. The phone is currently locked to Telus Canada and I live in Texas. No matter how many people I speak to at Telus, I'm still holding a very expensive paper weight because they won't allow me to pay the one time fee to open an account that would allow them mail me a sim card in to unlock it with an unlock code.

    Rugged like a Casio G shock watch

    This is a tough cell phone that is put to a test daily. A Johnny Cash phone "rolled around in the mud and the blood and the beer". Can at least text when carrier (AT&T) doesn't provide reliable service. Had another "military spec" phone about 2 months ago that failed me in a emergency, had to hike out over a mile (with two replacement knees not a good day). Higher resolution camera would be a plus, YouTube helpful on use and be sure it works with your carrier.i.e. not a Telus locked phone unless that your service provider.

    Nice undestructible phone!

    Very satisfied with this phone, long battery life (used to finish my shift with 20-30 % battery, now between 90-95% !!!), screen is bright in full sun, not afraid to use the phone in rain with gloves full of mud, wash the phone under tap water at the end of day! Made for work. The speaker is loud enough to be heard over loud machine. I work in landscaping so this is the perfect phone for that kind of use.

    Good alternative for a dedicated GPS

    I bought this telephone primarily as a GPS with the phone functionality as a secondary thing. The device is telus unlocked but there is no bloatware and the two telus and two sonim apps installed can be easily disabled without rooting if you want. It uses a micro sim despite what the official specifications say. The adapter has the typical USA pins but works for both 110 and 230V so you only need a cheap converter or any other charger with USB port. The device updates to android version 5, be careful some GPS apps don't like this so check first. Updating can be done very easily trough the installed MobileCare app. GPS is sensitive and fast, compas is also ok. Maybe not the most obvious buy when you want a fancy phone but for outdoor purposes excellent.
