About this product

Product Information

Are you a follower of Jesus? Don't answer too quickly. In fact, you may want to read this book before you answer at all. Consider it a "Define the Relationship" conversation to determine exactly where you stand. You may indeed be a passionate, fully devoted follower of Jesus. Or, you may be just a fan who admires Jesus but isn't ready to let him cramp your style. Then again, maybe you're not into Jesus, period. In any case, don't take the question--Are you a follower of Jesus?--lightly. Some people don't know what they've said yes to and other people don't realize what they've said no to, says Pastor Kyle Idleman. But Jesus is ready to clearly define the relationship he wants with his followers. Not a Fan calls you to consider the demands and rewards of being a true disciple. With frankness sprinkled with humor, Idleman invites you to live the way Jesus lived, love the way he loved, pray the way he prayed, and never give up living for the One who gave his all for you.

    Highly Recomended

Received "Not a Fan" and have been attending a small group study for this book. so very enlightening, challenging for the reader to take inventory of their spiritual life. Author Kyle Idleman keeps the writings simple enough, but spiritually deep enough for the reader to look into their lives and answer Kyle's question, "are you a fan or a follower of Jesus Christ?"

  • perfect title

I don't read many books, except the bible but this book was giving to me from a pastor at my church to borrow and i didn't know what i was in for as i began to read this book. this book has convicted me to deeply desire a closer and better relationship with Jesus. like i said this book was given to me and when i was finished i felt the Holy Spirit leading to read it again, so i ordered it from you.

  • Your money could be spent better elsewhere.

I can't say I am a fan of not a fan. Overall the author's point seems to be that Christians don't live their faith intentionally enough. The pitfall of this lack of intention according to the author is that come judgement day Jesus may say "I never knew you" so you'll end up in hell. Seems to nullify the concept of grace, and focus on sin management and good works as the path to salvation. The author also seems to contradict himself in suggesting on multiple occasions the sacrifices people should be making as Christians, then using bible verses that my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Overall not a book worth purchasing. An easy and slightly interesting read if someone offers you the book outright.

  • Worth it

Crazy Love used to be my favorite book, but within a few pages, Not a Fan became my new favorite. Kyle Idleman has perfectly articulated everything I've felt and wished I could say, and it's something no Christian would regret reading. He's straightforward, honest, full of love, and, in every word, points your eyes towards Christ.

  • Am I a fan?

Author makes you question how "good" of a Christian you are in a good way. The book makes you accountable for your actions as a Christian. A definite read!
