    Shrekoriginal Soundtrack CD

    I purchased this CD because I absolutely love the music from the movie, especially "Hallelujah" written by John Cale and sung by John Cale in the movie. However, the song on this CD is sung by Rufus Wainright. I was disappointed that the CD did not carry the original version. For those of you looking for this song...it is only on one CD: I'm Your Fan (Tribute to Leonard Cohen) UPC 075678234927 I have not yet purchased this CD, but my research shows this being the only CD where this song is listed. In addition, the tracks are not as they were in the movie...they all had slight variations. Still in all, I do enjoy it but not as I would had it included the original recordings.

    Good price for all the songs you get.

    Children like to have their own CDs. My 5 year old Grandson has enjoyed listening to this as he plays. It has full length songs he can sing along with.

    Best way to find Rufus Wainwright Hallelujah

    Many of the songs are fun for adults and kids, but I bought it because iTunes will not sell Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah as anything other than a compilation. We've watched the movie untold times, and the kids love to sing and dance to the soundtrack, especially the Baha Men's Best Years of Our Lives.

    Shrek 1/2 More like it

    The problem with this CD is that the first half it seems is made up of bland pop tunes that were not even featured in the film (at least in these forms). A typical example of music company marketing run amok. Shame on them. About 5 songs in, the tunes get familiar (i.e. from the film) and a little more diverse. Rufus Wainwright's track goes a long way to redeeming the soul of thissurprisingly obvious corporate marketing inspired compilation.

More to explore:
