Planet Bike makes some of the best cycling products on - well - the planet! We have other Planet Bike lights & other items, so when I needed another tail light, this one was what I looked for. Very reasonably priced cycling tail light, easy installation, easy & simple operation, and visible a mile away. The design of the light ensures really long battery life; something we can't get from most rechargeable tail lights. Bright it is
I have been a fan of the super-flash lights since they first came out many years back. They are bright enough to be seen, this one is twice that bright, even in the daylight and the uneven flashing sequence of the LEDs demands the attention of anyone with eyes. I managed to drop mine off of the bike, at a good speed, several times, over the years, and although it did come apart nothing broke. I snapped it back together, turned it on and off I went. The newer lights have even fixed the only weakness I found on the lights over my several lights and many years of usage. The switch cover once thin plastic formed with and a part of the the back cover is now a separate piece of rubber so will not get brittle and crack over the years like one of my four lights did. When compared to other tailights in size, weight and battery life this is one of the best if not the best on the market. So get a Super-flash or spend the extra on the Turbo if you can't go wrong they are all great.

Long range beam
This is my second one of the lights. I keep one bike in Florida and the other in Michigan. I first saw one of these while riding in a car and was at least a half mile down the road from a cycler and first saw the beam. We caught up to him at a light and I asked him what brand of taillight he had and it was this one. I ride hundreds of miles a year and want to be seen continuously. The sooner I am spotted the better for me. After mounting the light I'll try to aim it at a wall about 20' away so it will be level with a driver in a car and just a little to left side of my rear. I'm hoping to get that beam right into their eyes from a great distance, just like when I had first noticed it. Ride skinny and stay seen. - TomThis is my second one of the lights. I live in Seattle & ride year 'round appx 2k miles year and I keep a Front & this rear flasher on during Daylight, night time, Rain or Shine. Some products do not play well with AA Rechargeable batteries which are 1.38 volts fully charged. This bright 1 watt light will keep flashing even when both AA batteries reach 0.86 volts (ea). At this point they are not very bright but it's a hell of a lot better than having a light go completely off when the voltage drops to 1.18 volts (as several other lights tend to do). After I periodically run this light 18-30 hours (@3-7 hours per day) the batteries measure 1.88 volts ea and this is generally where I choose to recharge them (and they are still quite bright). Planet Bike's old 1/2 watt light would get 40 hours before the bats would get to 1.88 ... You would think that since it is almost twice as bright that it's timeline performance would be 50% less (this is not the case). This new 1 watt light has superior technology over the old 1/2 watt & is almost twice the bright but it's run time is 25% less than the old one. If you visually compare the old with the new there is a shocking difference in brightness. To be clear,, all my tests and statistics are when the light was on "Flash Mode" ONLY. To top it off this is an Ebay grand bargain. Amazon is selling this exact same model for $28.50 (get'em while they last) . Yesss, Definitely 5 stars,, all the way!
