Reviews
"Like all the best thrillers, this one is about more than pace--the narrative propels you forward with a locomotive's thrust, but Child never loses sight of the small detail or the human fabric."--Booklist (starred review) "[Child] shows again his mastery of the thriller.... Jack Reacher may know the time to the minute without a watch and bring justice to bear wherever he goes, but this time he doest it the hard way, sweating the details and working the clues.... Tension builds through the plot twists to another riveting finish."--Library Journal (starred review) From the Hardcover edition., "A Reacher novel is the closest thing to guaranteed joy short of a honeymoon."- Rocky Mountain News "Reacher, a former Army military police major, is a character like no other. Intuitive, independent, indomitable - he walks softly and carries a very big stick."- The Biloxi Sun Herald "Plenty of suspense writers play the tough-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold card, but Child is indelibly skillful, quickly sketching intriguing characters as he drops bombshell after bombshell. With its taciturn but engaging hero and almost unbearably prolonged tension, The Hard Way makes reading easy indeed."- The Miami Herald "In The Hard Way , Reacher is better than ever."- Contra Costa Times "Fans...will find themselves hanging onto their armchairs for dear life. The Hard Way is a breathless, well-paced thriller."- Denver Post "Nine red-hot books ago, Lee Child concocted the rough, tough Superman of the crime-busting genre, as smart and charismatic as he is unbeatable. And then Mr. Child broke the mold. Early next week (why delay good news?), Reacher returns in this series' 10th installment, The Hard Way . It's one more labyrinthine story that takes off like a shot: as usual, Mr. Child has you at hello."-Janet Maslin, The New York Times "Plunges Reacher into one of his most challenging-and thoroughly engrossing-adventures to date."- Publishers Weekly, starred review "Like all the best thrillers, this one is about more than pace--the narrative propels you forward with a locomotive's thrust, but Child never loses sight of the small detail or the human fabric."- Booklist , starred review "[Child] shows again his mastery of the thriller.... • The Hard Way by Lee Child (2006)

This was my first read of a Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child. It certainly kept my interest from start to finish. Child's Reacher well uses his knowledge, experience, reason, logic, and a passion for what is right to bring justice to his clients. I enjoyed the balance that character Ex-Special FBI Agent Lauren Pauling brought to the case and to the novel overall. I appreciated Child's use of settings in America and the U.K. He offers the reader important details told spare prose, similar to James Patterson's works.

  • The best and most interesting book I have ever read!

oved the main character (Jack Reacher), fell for him on a personal basis (which is disturbing!) and have decided to not only read every single book in the "Jack Reacher" series, but to collect every single hardback period and I will just read my own, along with my husband. The most best special ops book I have ever read. It was realistic....10 x better than watching the "Jason Bourne" movie series. I couldn't put it down! But I have to admit, these are not normally "woman" books. More "man" books.

  • THE HARD WAY

AS A FAN OF ACTION ADVENTURE BOOKS WITH A TWIST OR TWO, THE HARD WAY, BY LEE CHILD IS THE LATEST EDITION OF MY "JACK REACHER" FIX. THIS CHARACTER HAS A QUALITY ABOUT HIM THAT KEEPS THE TRUE FAN BEGGING FOR MORE. THE ONLY BAD PART ABOUT THESE NOVELS IS THAT NOW I HAVE TO BUY THEM IN HARD BOUND BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY I COULD WAIT IN LINE AT THE LIBRARY OR A YEAR UNTIL IT CAME OUT IN PAPERBACK! THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT CHILDS' PREVIOUS BOOK, "ONE SHOT" HAS BEEN PICKED UP FOR A MOVIE! I'M VOTING FOR VIGGO MORGENSTERN FOR THE QUIET BUT DANGEROUS LEAD!

  • I am reading this book right now good story good book

  • Another Must Read

If your a Jack Reacher fan than this is another must have!!! I have read all the Lee Child Novels and it just keeps getting better can't wait for the next one. Lee Child takes you from the first page and throws you into the action that doesn't stop until the last page creating great characters with great action making you feel like your in the middle of it. Childs is a great writer and if you like one you will like them all
