Product Information

"Pure bliss." Atlanta Journal & Constitution A Hamish Macbeth Mystery by the author of "Death of a Hussy." With a cold in his head and no place to go for Christmas, Hamish snaps up the invitation of drop-dead gorgeous Jane Wetherby to spend the holiday at her Scottish island health farm -- and figure out who is trying to kill her. When Hamish arrives on the island of Eileencraig, he finds threatening locals and fellow guests barely more civil, especially a terrible snob named Heather Todd. It seems like everyone on the island has a grudge against Jane. How to choose among so many suspects? But then one suspect is eliminated. Heather Todd is murdered. And suddenly Hamish's Christmas is looking very black indeed . . .

  • A great read for any time of the day or night!

Another great novel featuring Hamish MacBeth, the policeman in a tiny Scottish village. For such a tiny setting, death and mayhem are everyday fare. Enough diverse characters to keep the reader guessing "who did it?" and a spotlight on the villagers who are featured throughout the series. Murder, mystery and humor in a relatively short novel that holds the interest of the reader. Well worth purchasing.

  • Hamih Macbeth rocks!

Great writing and characters. Easy summer read or good mystery series for cold winter nights.

  • death of a snob

I love all the Hamish Macbeth books. I like light easy detective books no swearing or bloody descriptions and yet it holds ones interest.

  • Death of a Snob

Fun mystery in Scotish Highlands. Takes you on the adventures of a contented man doing what he loves, in a town he loves, with people he considers friends. Not your usual fast procedural. Here you savor the people and the place as you are entertained.
