Marvelous storytelling mixed with a great cast of characters, fascinating science and little-known history. Anyone with even a passing interest in the Pacific Northwest or volcanoes will love this book.     Mt. St Helens Disaster Reviewed

    Excellent book by Steve Olson, should be on the shelf of anyone even remotely interested in the 1980 Washington state eruption. More a personal look at the victims then a technical one, Olson writes in a clear and interesting manner, easy to pick up, impossible to put down!
