    Excellent book to research early American silversmiths

    World of knowledge in this book. I looked through it and every page was absolutely loaded with information that I did not possess. Date marks , makers marks, for sterling as well as some high end plated items

    A guide to American hallmarks - past and present

    An invaluable book for any silver collector. Hallmarks are listed alphabetically by company and also by hallmark/logo alone. Concise history of each maker including their silverplate work and marks. I use this guide as a reference on a regular basis and love to just leaf through it - it's like an historical biography of American silversmiths.

    Very good book

    I am running into a lot of silverplate in going to auctions and needed to find out more about it. This book had good reviews so when I saw it for the right price, I decided to try it. I like it because it has tons of information. It just seems like tons of information is still never enough!

    Excellent reference book

    Provides detailed information on more silver manufacturers than I ever knew existed. Includes drawings of hallmarks and brief history of each manufacturer.
